Steeped in history.

Building 72, the former Royal Navy Ordnance Depot we call home, was historically used to store and prepare munitions for the naval ships laid up on the River Medway at Chatham from the late 17th century. It’s been rumoured that in the early 60’s Britain’s first H.Bomb was stored here, or parts of it, prior to the Christmas Island tests.

These days, it’s a little bit different. Building 72 has been transformed into an exciting and vibrant restaurant that combines a rustic, casual atmosphere with excellent modern cooking.

In-house artisan shop.

As well as serve delicious food in our restaurant, we have a small in-house shop that stocks local produce.

These include Upnor castle honey and carpentry items made by local craftsman Eric Vine.

If you join us for lunch or dinner feel free to browse our store and ask for more information about any items. We are constantly updating our stock so you’re unlikely to see the same produce two times in a row!
